A Beach-Brite beach cleaning is different from just walking the beach and picking up what litter is visible. Check out our video to see how Beach-Brite differs and why that difference matters.
Most beach litter is found in the top inch of sand. At Beach-Brite, we created a first-of-its-kind sand sifter that picks up litter just below the surface and is also safe for delicate natural habitats.
You'll be surprised by what hides just beneath the surface of the sand. Many people think they can easily walk the beach and pick up the trash they find.
Of course, this works for some of the trash. But much of the trash quickly becomes covered as the tide comes in and the wind blows the sand.
That means you might have a pile of trash just below the surface. That's trash waiting to be uncovered or discovered by beachgoers or animals in their natural habitats.
In the video, watch as James shows what could be picked up by hand along this Florida Panhandle Beach and what was hiding beneath the surface.
We show the difference between picking up trash that you find on the beach and actually sifting the sand. I'll show you what we picked up by hand and then what we got in the attachment that we're using.
This is some of the stuff we've actually picked up by hand.
Sardine can
aluminum
plastic
broken glass bottle
sardine tin lid
smaller pieces of plastic, debris, litter
Beach-Brite can cover about 300 feet of sand in about 45 minutes. It's way more efficient, and when you think you've got the beach cleaned by walking it, our sifter will show you otherwise.
Currently, Beach-Brite is covering from Perdido Key to Gulf Shores.
